At Northern Optical Company, we want to offer our patients the latest in eye care. That’s why we have a 3D OCT scanner.

If you’re eligible for a free NHS eye test, you can add our enhanced 3D OCT imaging to it for a small additional charge.

OCT (ocular coherence tomography) is a quick and painless screening method that takes not only a picture of the back of the eye (retina) but also scans the layers behind that you can’t see. This allows us to check more in depth for conditions such as age related macular degeneration, glaucoma and diabetes. This technology helps us to diagnose these conditions earlier.

Do you suffer from watery or sore and irritable eyes?

We have a special interest in dry eye and run appointments to help people with these or similar complaints.

Using top of the range equipment to exam and take images of the front of the eye, including the tear film, we can assess the cause of your symptoms and recommend ways to improve your condition.
